Bentley has been Katie's partner for seven years. He was the first horse to go through her training program. Before Katie bought Bentley he had suffered a serious abcess, a large portion of his hoof from toe to cornet band had to be removed. During his recovery Bentley suffered periodic lamness and was on strict stall rest. Bentley's hoof issues were supposed to haunt him for the rest of his life with recurring soreness. However, Bentley has fully recovered and is completely sound. Katie has successfully shown him in hunter/jumper, western pleasure, pleasure driving, trail, and low level eventing. They have shown at the local, 4h, and USEF A rated level. They have won many blues and championships together. In 2006, Bentley and Katie joined the Washington College Equestrian Team in the Centerville, MD Christmas parade. Their most recent adventure is learning sidesaddle at South 40 Farm, under the instruction of Katie Jacob.
Not only is Bentley verastile but he truly enjoys his many talents and practicing them. Brideless is his favorite. Bentley always comes to Katie excited for his workout, as if to say, "So, what do we get to do today?"
Bentley and Katie are the best of friends.
